rage triathlon: race details
We regret to inform you that as of March 23, the 2021 RAGE Triathlon has been canceled by the National Park Service and Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
According to a statement provided by Lake Mead National Recreation Area, "Due to the recent critical event at Lake Mead NRA, the triathlon event planned by BBSC is cancelled. Staffing levels and capacity cannot be accomplished at this time to accommodate the special event."
We share in the disappointment and frustration this announcement brings and apologize for any inconvenience that it may cause. The critical event mentioned by Lake Mead is an isolated incident that will not affect future BBSC races at this venue. This decision by the park is not related to COVID-19 protocols and limitations. Our team was fully prepared to host a safe event on April 10th.
The BBSC Endurance Sports team will continue to work hard in our goal to provide you with outstanding endurance events. We look forward to hosting you at another race very soon. Our first 2021 triathlon will now be the Sand Hollow Triathlon on May 22nd.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support,
The BBSC Team
The Annual Rage Triathlon at Lake Mead National Recreation Area on April 10th will kick-off the race season in southern Nevada. This epic desert race was started in 2001.
Rage offers a Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquabike.
Las Vegas has a subtropical hot desert climate, typical of the Mojave Desert in which it lies. The warm transitional seasons makes the Rage Tri the perfect Spring triathlon destination in the US. Triathlon clubs from across the region gather here to launch the multisport race season early. Rage has been recognized by Nevada triathletes as the “must-do” event to open their triathlon season.
The bike course is hilly, with the majority occurring on a section of Lakeshore Dr. that is located entirely within the national recreation area. The Olympic distance run will journey past the lush Boulder Beach campground, and turn onto the River Mountain Loop Trail. This course makes Rage one of the most scenic desert landscape triathlons in the region.
