This point to point race begins at  Boulder Beach, Lake Mead and ends at Wilbur Square in Boulder City, just 25 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Boasting a Sprint and Olympic, Pumpkinman it’s course is known to be scenic and challenging, with a gorgeous Lake Mead view after reaching the hilltop. Where is Transition Area 1 (Swim to Bike)? Boulder Beach, Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Directions: Take 95/93 South into Boulder City. Turn Left at Lake Shore Drive (entrance to Lake Mead National Rec Area). Take the 3rd turn off from the Boulder City toll booth, Boulder Beach Special Events Beach

Where is Transition Area 2 (Bike to Run & Finish Line)?
On Colorado St between Wilbur Square and Bicentennial Park – 999 Colorado St, Boulder City
Directions: Turn Left onto Lake Shore Rd and exit Lake Mead National Rec Area. Turn right onto US-93. Turn right onto Colorado St. Nevada Way will be closed for the bike course.  Google Map directions for spectators

Packet Pick Up

Thursday, October 23rd


Time: 4:00PM – 7:00PM

Location: McGhie’s Suite 100, 19 S Stephanie St, Henderson, NV

Friday’s packet pick up location will be at McGhie’s in Henderson. There will still be a mandatory run gear drop at T2 at Wilbur Square, but it is your choice whether you drop off on Friday night or Saturday morning. Please plan accordingly.

Time: 3:00PM – 8:00PM

We will be allowing all athletes to drop off their run gear at the Wilbur Square, Transition Area 2 between 2:30PM – 8:30PM on Friday. Transition Area 2 will only be open for 2 hours on Saturday morning from 5:00am – 7:00am.

$10 fee associated with Race Day Packet Pick Up. Option available during online registration.

Time: 5:00AM – 7:00AM

All athletes who choose to check-in on race morning will be charged an extra $10 fee. Transition Area 2 will only be open for 2 hour on Saturday morning prior to race start. Please plan extra time for travel to the swim start at Boulder Beach. See Race Day directions to Boulder Beach

Packet Pick Up Rules & Policies

  • You must drop your run gear at T2 on Friday or Saturday morning during the allotted times. There will be overnight security.
  • No one will be allowed to pick up your packet for you.  Please do not email in asking for an exception as this is a USAT requirement that will not be ignored.
  • All relay team members must be present together to pick up their packet – no exceptions.
  • If you are unable to pick up during this time, please select Race Day Packet Pick Up when you register. Race Day Packet Pick Up will cost an extra $10 to allow for extra staffing on race morning, so all other staff can prepare safety checks.
  • Late registration will be accepted if space allows, but neither checks nor credit cards will be accepted. Please bring cash.

Awards / Results - The top 3 winners will be awarded and results will be posted in the groups below. All finish times will be calculated using the appropriate gun time so please BE SURE YOU START IN THE CORRECT WAVE.

Park PassesLake Mead is a National Recreation Area, and will require all participants and spectators to pay their own park fee. Passes can be purchased at the entrance stations, and will allow you entry for up to 5 days. Buy a pass the day before if you would like to check out the course and not deal with paying the fee on race morning.

ParkingEvent parking will take place near Transition Area 1 at Lake Mead on race morning and spectators are encouraged to drive up to Transition Area 2 in Boulder City after the conclusion of the swim. Shuttles will only be provided to transport ATHLETES back down from T2 to T1 at the conclusion of the race. Attention Athletes: If you decide to ride your bike back to T1 YOU MUST FOLLOW THE RIVER MOUNTAIN TRAIL BACK TO LAKE MEAD as entering the park any other way would require another park entry fee.

ShuttlesShuttles will run between 10:00am and 4:30p for ATHLETES ONLY.

Split TransitionRun gear should be dropped off at Transition Area 2 at Wilbur Square, Boulder City on Friday between 2:30pm – 8:30pm or Saturday, between 5:00am-7:00am.

  • Transition area 2 in Boulder City will be open on Friday during packet pick-up. All athletes MUST drop their run gear during the allotted times provided on Friday or Saturday. Overnight security will be provided.
  • All athletes should arrive at Transition Area 1 at Lake Mead on race morning with their swim and bike gear only.
  • Each athlete will be responsible for packing their own swim gear and attaching the bag-check tag provided on your run bib before taking off on their bike. Loose gear that has not been secured inside a bag will be available at Lost & Found later in the day.
  • Do not GIVE OR HAND OFF your swim gear to a spectator to PACK AND/OR TAKE FOR YOU to the finish area as this would be considered outside assistance and could result in a USAT time penalty.

Gear Bags – BBSC transition bags will be sold at packet pick-up on Thursday and Friday. If you do not plan to purchase a transition bag from BBSC, please plan on using your own bag. Remember, you only have 2.5″ allotted to you in each transition area. Please be courteous of the size of bag you bring. Unnecessarily large bags wider than 2.5″ will be penalized.

Water TemperatureThe water temperature at Lake Mead will be measured the morning of the event by the USAT Official. An estimate of water temperature will be provided as the event date approaches.
