It’s your time to SHINE on the 4th of July. Have fun with BBSC and Your Cause Sports and EARN your independence this 4th of July at the Boulder Reservoir. We’ll have an amateur and advanced volleyball tournament along with a 5K and 1 Mile Run. Entrance into the park is included in your entry fee! And you’ll get access to an exclusive beer garden with games on the grass and food trucks galore. Plus, you’ll receive a free shirt AND free beer coupon! All proceeds from the beer benefit the 501(c)3 nonprofit, Your Cause Sports! Now that’s what I call a 4th of July Celebration!

It is $15 to enter the Boulder Reservoir on the 4th of July. By participating in the 1 Mile, 5K or Volleyball Tournament you’ll receive a free beer coupon, free tank top and you’ll be eligible for awards and prizes! Plus, your park entry is included in your registration ($15 value for park admission).
The beer garden is open to the general public and will serve $3 beers from 8am-2pm and $5 beers from 2-4pm. All proceeds benefit the 501(c)3 nonprofit, Your Cause Sports! So bring your friends and family, and come celebrate the 4th of July with BBSC!

Volleyball Tournament Features
*Register as ‘Volleyball Individual’ if you wish to be assigned to a team.
**Register as a ‘Volleyball Team’ if you have a group of 4 or more.
Alcohol Policy – You are prohibited from bringing your own alcohol inside of the park on the 4th of July. Each participant will receive 2 complimentary coupons for the beer tent. You may purchase more beer coupons by donating $2 per coupon to the non-profit beer sponsor, Your Cause Sport. You must be 21 or older to redeem these coupons. There will be police officers and security to ensure that everyone is overage and not drinking outside of the beer designated area. If you are caught drinking your own alcohol or underage drinking, you will be escorted from the park and will face consequences put in place by the City of Boulder Police Department.
Volleyball Individual – If you would like to be assigned to a team, you can chose this option and we will place you in a team of 3. If you have a team of two or 3, you can chose this option and we will complete your team for you! Please remember to type in the same Team Name when you register.
Volleyball Team – If you have a team of 4-5, you can chose Volleyball team registration. Only one team member needs to register, but every member must come to registration to sign-in and show an ID. Each team can receive a maximum of 8 beer coupons (4+ players).
Boulder Reservoir – You are prohibited from bringing your own alcohol inside of the park on the 4th of July. All participants must abide by the rules implemented by the Boulder Reservoir at all times. No glass is allowed. No dogs are allowed. For spectators and other non participants, you will need to pay your separate admission to the park. Please review all other Boulder Reservoir Rules Here.
Parking – The Boulder Reservoir gate will be open to athletes at 6:00am on race morning. There is plenty of parking at the Res, but please account for unexpected parking or traffic delays. Non participants will have to purchase their own entry to the park. If you are unable to drive your vehicle at the end of the day, you may leave your vehicle at the Boulder Reservoir overnight
Run Aid Stations – There will be aid stations located at every mile on the course.
Timing – Flatirons Event Specialists will be timing Earn Your Independence 5K & 1 Mile. Timing mats will be positioned the finish line.
Finish Line Policy – Each athlete will be given adequate time to catch their breath and celebrate their accomplishment. We ask that each athlete immediately continue on to the food and beer tent, as not to interfere with other finishers and ensure the safety of participants, volunteers and fans.The finish tent can get crowded. Athletes will NOT BE ALLOWED to loiter.
Finish Line Etiquette – Friends & Family can join you as you cross the finish line. Make sure they are positioned at the beginning of the finish line chute to meet you. Please be aware of other athletes around you.
Bib Transfers – As noted in the waiver that was signed upon completion of registration, bibs are non-transferable and cannot be transferred from one person to another. Your bib provides us with very important information identifying you. This extends to purposes including our medical team, scoring and timing. Transferring bibs would compromise these processes severely. We appreciate your cooperation with honoring this important requirement. Violation of this rule may prohibit you from participating in all future BBSC events and banned from all USATF sanctioned events. Thank you for your understanding.
Awards / Results - The top 3 winners will be awarded and results will be posted in the following groups. All finish times will be calculated using the appropriate gun times. Results will continually be updated throughout the day. Final results and splits will be posted online at onlineraceresults.com by the end of the day.
Lost & Found – A Lost & Found will be available at the Flatirons Timing Tent located near the finish line. Any items retrieved from the course will be made available for two weeks after the event. After the two week claim period, items will be donated. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule the return for your lost (and found) item. Shipping charges may apply.
